How to use VIP and Discount Reward Programs in Australia
Most Australians know of FlyBuys, Everyday Rewards and Qantas Frequent Flyers but did you know there are so many more VIP clubs you can get freebies and discounts from?
Ask every shop you go to, every cafe, restaurant or anywhere you spend money if they have a loyalty or member program.
While many have cards to carry in your wallet, others have moved to apps and if they haven’t there are apps you can download to store all your loyalty cards in instead of carrying all the cards.
This post shares all the loyalty programs we have found in Australia, but they aren’t the only way to get freebies.
We have listed all the Australian birthday freebie options here and a full list of Aussie freebies here.

Salvos stores have a store card. Every dollar spent is a point, which then can be redeemed on instore purchases. Not sure what the conversion is, but if you're a regular it's worth it.

I also check the following: union memberships, club memberships (eg RACQ), insurance company offers (sometimes they're part of a chain or group of some kind).

Oh, I didn't know this and when I spent a few hundred there recently, no one told me! I usually order books online but every now and then I go into a store. Thanks, Greg!

Plenty of local businesses offer rewards cards also, too many to name even! Some others I can think of that are more widely known: -Chemmart pharmacy (earn points on non-prescription items to reduce costs at the register), -the Co-op book shop is widely distributed ($20 one time fee to join, then get member discounts for life- great for university students. They also have free postage), -EB games have been around for a while, -RACQ (& other state equivalents), -Petbarn, -Red Cross (buy/donate 10 times for a 25% discount).
